Author: Vickery Eckhoff
I'm a NYC-based writer with two current screenplays, The Modern Christian Spinster's Guide to Love in the 21st Century (which is available for option) and The Judas Horse, (which is under option to Nous Entertainment).
The Modern Christian Spinster's Guide is about motorcycles, Latin lovers and Sunday School; The Judas Horse is the story of Paula Bacon, the Mayor of Kaufman, TX, who shut down a notorious horse slaughter house there, and is based on a story I published on Forbes.com, "Texas Mayor Paula Bacon Kicks Some Tail." Both screenplays are based on true stories.
My other writing has appeared in Forbes, Newsweek, Salon, AlterNet, The Huffington Post, The New York Times and Laika and has covered wild horse politics, cowboy showdowns over Western public rangelands, and the underground horse meat trade.
I have been freelance for a long time, with in-house gigs at Conde Nast, The New York Times, Dow Jones, Forbes and several digital agencies.
